Family and relationships question:

i am a father of 2 children 4 and 2. wife with history of mental health. one might say that she is a show mum. i cared for my wife for 7 years and all kids over that time. I don't want to keep looking after someone who is secretive. But i am staying for the two young kids. my wife, as i have found, is a bully. (sulking going out not letting me know when she is coming back. booking personal holidays, sleeping during the day) this january i told my wife to shake up her act or we will get a divorce. before i knew what was happening she was claiming that i was not living there and had changed to single income support and also applied for council tax. we have been through counselling and mediation. i got the idea to go for residency of the kids. I was subsequently advised that this is a bad move as is not awarded to men. it makes me look like an aggressor, trying to harm my wife. i have cancelled the residence order and am waiting to be divorced. (the wife is waiting until march 31st). what are the legalities concerning deceiving the benefit system? my wife and step daughter are taking notes about unreasonable behaviour, beatings, verbal abuse. i am walking around with a tape recorder and taking my own notes. what is likely her next step is persecuting me?
