can my new wife move from her tier 2 work visa to a marriage visa without too much difficulty?

The marriage visa (spouse category) only requires that you have leave to remain in the UK beyond 6 months which would allow her to "switch" into the spouse category whilst remaining in the UK. She will ofcourse have to fulfill all the requirements under the Rules. If you require any further assistance I would be happy to help.
