Medical claims question:

My father died in hospital and I do not think the treatment was good enough. Can I sue on behalf of my father – or is it too late (because only my father can sue, and he is no longer alive) ?

You, or another member of your family, can sue on behalf of your father (strictly speaking, on behalf of your father’s estate). You should see an experienced Medical Accidents solicitor as soon as possible (preferably before the inquest!)

As with any medical negligence claim the starting point with regards to the law of limitation is that a claim must be issued within 3 years of the act of negligence. If a person has died a claim can be brought by the Estate of the deceased up to 3 years fom the date of the Deceased's death.
