After being granted 5 year refugee status leave an application for settlement will trigger a review by the UKBA. If it is found following the review that a refugee no longer requires protection in the UK then refugee status may cease although there might still be another category that they qualify for and leave may be varied.

In light of the above you will basically need to show that you still qualify for refugee status and the documents to provide will depend on the nature of your particular circumstances, your initial asylum claim and the current situation in your home country.

It is best advised that you seek assistance from a solicitor in order to increase the chances of a successful application and to ensure that you are including all potential documentation and representations to ensure your application is as strong as possible.

This is an application which can be undertaken under Legal Help. However, you will need to ask a solicitor to assess whether you are eligible for Legal Help and you will be required to provide your bank statements and any other up-to-date documentation that reflects your current financial circumstances.
