Medical claims question:

I recently underwent a biopsy of the lymph gland in my groin however, somehow the hospital (NHS) managed to give me a serious infection which required a surgical fix under general anaesthetic. The wound was then left open to heal naturally which took 6 weeks. I am considering taking legal action for discomfort and pain, and now depression, I am still going through. Can you offer any advice on what I can do and who I should speak to?

Any surgical proceedure carries a risk of infection , so the fact that you got an infection is not in itself an indication of negligence.
I would recommend that as a starting point you proceed with a complaint and for futher guidance please see http://www.goodmanslaw.co.uk/services/medical-negligence/nhs-complaints-procedure/
