The oven I bought last month has broken down and the retailer has closed its store. What can I do?

Unfortunately, your statutory rights to reject the item and get your money back, or a replacement, can only be used against the retailer who supplied your oven. If the shop has closed down, contact the manufacturer as there is most likely a guarantee of six months or more in which it will repair the appliance for you free of charge.
But given the oven is only a month old, it is worth asking the manufacturer to replace the oven as a gesture of good will. But if there isn’t any guarantee there is little you can do unfortunately.
